About the Owners

I Moved to Edisto in 2016 a year before Lindsey(Edisto Kennel owner and Mother-In-Love) opened the Edisto Kennels business in 2017. I Left my big girl job as an assistant manager/pharmacy tech for 3 years. Crossed the big bridge and never looked back. My husband deployed beginning of 2017 and that’s when I enrolled in grooming school(ABC College). Mostly to give me something to do and take my mind off his deployment. And it was going to be a good service to offer our boarding and daycare clients once my mother in law opened up for business. I love learning new things and was super excited for a change. Never thought about dog grooming a day in my life until then. Instantly fell love with the grooming school program and traveled back and forth to Beaufort SC to complete 150 hours of my Externship to graduate as a certified dog groomer. That was the closest place/business that would take on a grooming student. I know many groomers are self taught and you don’t necessarily need schooling but I learned so much from the program and the business aspect of grooming. It also felt really good hanging that certificate on the wall for all new clients to see. They know I’ve put in the long hours and hard work to do what I do. I’ve now been grooming in my little low country island salon for 6 years this April(I think). I have the most loyal and respectful clients.(2 leg and 4 legged ones). I now have two wild little boys who love stopping in to see me and play with the pups. We live right across the street from the kennel so I literally get to walk to my salon/office everyday. I’ve also been teaching others to become groomers as well the past two years. I am about to sign off on my 3rd ABC college students hours this week.(Can go into more detail if needed later).
