Welcome back to another episode of The Daily Groomer! I'm excited to share with you the invaluable insights we
gained from our guest, Chrissy Neumyer Smith. Chrissy is a master grooming behavior specialist and certified professional
groomer with extensive experience in the industry. Her expertise and passion for creating great grooming dogs truly shine
through in this episode. So, without further ado, let's dive into the three key lessons we took away from our conversation
with Chrissy.

Lesson 1: Prioritize Customer Service and Safety

One of the most crucial points emphasized by Chrissy is the importance of customer service and putting the safety of both
the customer's dog and the groomer first. She highlights the potential dangers of a dog jumping around during grooming,
including the risk of injury and high veterinary bills. It's essential for groomers to take grooming seriously to prevent
long-term fear or anxiety in the dog. By prioritizing safety and excellent customer service, groomers can ensure a positive
experience for both the dog and the owner.

Lesson 2: Understand the Risks and Tools Involved in Grooming

Chrissy draws attention to the fact that many non-groomers may not fully grasp the potential risks involved in dog grooming.
Groomers use sharp tools to cut hair efficiently, which may not be obvious to pet owners. It's crucial to educate owners
about the tools and their potential risks. By doing so, we can bridge the gap of understanding and ensure that both sides
are on the same page when it comes to grooming practices.

Lesson 3: Addressing Hesitancies and Fears in Dogs

In this episode, Chrissy delves deep into the issue of dogs having hesitancies or fears during grooming. She emphasizes the
importance of questioning why a dog may have these anxieties and exploring different training perspectives to address them.
By taking a compassionate and understanding approach, groomers can help create a safe and comfortable environment for dogs
during grooming sessions.

These three key lessons from Chrissy Neumyer Smith provide a fantastic foundation for improving our grooming practices. By
prioritizing customer service and safety, understanding the risks involved, and addressing hesitancies and fears in dogs,
we can create a positive grooming experience for all parties involved. I'm deeply grateful to Chrissy for sharing her
knowledge and insights with us.
