How much would you charge for this?? 🤔

This groomer charged $*** for a matted outdoor Pyrenees Mountain Dog that's NEVER been groomed 😳

I’ve ALWAYS wanted to be a game show host.

I don’t know if it was the countless years of watching Family Feud, or my weirdly competitive genes (thanks mom 🙄)… but being a gameshow host has always been on my bucket list.

So for today’s email, I wanted to have some fun 😄

Welcome to “The Price is Bite” by your host Alex Doodle! (that’s my gameshow host name lol).

In this fast paced gameshow, we’ll put your grooming knowledge to the test to see how well you know your cuts!

Using pictures, pet information, and some helpful hints you’ll be tasked with answering the motherload of all grooming questions: How much would you charge?

Now before we begin, I want to put a disclaimer out there ⚠️: I know that prices are up to the groomer and heavily depend on where you are located.

But like The Price is Right, give your best guess as to what this groomer charged based on the information you are given

And some helpful hints from the conversation with the groomer…

Question: “Why are they not brushing. So sad to see a magnificent beautiful beast this way.”

Answer: “Most of these dogs are highly neglected, once a year or once every few year grooms.”

Question: “When something like this happens, do you let the owners know you’re shaving the dog before you do it?”

Answer: “yep we talked extensively about it, I showed him how close to the skin the mats were, and he was updated along the way the entire time. He wanted to restart them because their coats were GNARLY. He was involved along the entire process. We agreed to the plan and the price before I even took the dog back. Because if he wasn’t ok with my pricing I was fine with not grooming them. He left with a care plan for future grooms and said they’re going to be inside dogs so he can maintain them

Question: “What did you do with the matted coat? I’m never nice about neglect! I typically put the matted coat on display for them or whoever else to see that week!”

Answer: “We wanted to but after we hung up the first pelt it smelled so bad that it was even stinking up the lobby behind the glass and we couldn’t stomach it anymore.”

Question: “What size blade did you use”

Answer: “10 was the only thing that could get under it and even that was a struggle in some areas. Pelted entirely”

Question: “How long did this take?”

Answer: “4+ hours but he ended up bring back another dog in the same condition… It took all day for both, 8+ hours….”

Question: “What was this dog booked under? What type of service…?”

Answer: “I forgot to mention they were booked as outline trims LOL”
